‘My Heart Is Calling’ Peaked On U.S. Pop Chart 25 Years Ago Today

On July 19, 1997 (25 years ago) “My Heart Is Calling” peaked at #77 on the Billboard Hot 100. The song was recorded for the 1996 film The Preacher’s Wife and was released as the third and final single from the soundtrack. Written and produced by Babyface, the song received positive reviews from critics — Entertainment Weekly referred to it as “a dance floor ballad.” To date, The Preacher’s Wife soundtrack remains the best-selling gospel album of all time.
