Whitney Houston’s ‘I Have Nothing’ Peaked Today On U.S. Pop Chart

“I Have Nothing” held the #4 spot on the Billboard Hot 100 for five weeks in 1993 — only held back by the record-setting sales of The Bodyguard soundtrack. The song, written by David Foster and Linda Thompson (and produced by Foster), was the third single from soundtrack. USA Today called both “I Have Nothing” and “Run To You” on the album “thrilling ballads, powered by an operatic coloratura alto.”
