Whitney Houston’s ‘Heartbreak Hotel’ Peaked On U.S. Chart In March 1999

March 20, 1999 – “Heartbreak Hotel,” the second single from Whitney’s My Love Is Your Love album, peaked at #2 on the Billboard Hot 100. The song, written by Carsten Schack, Kenneth Karlin and Tamara Savage and produced by Soulshock & Karlin, prominently features Faith Evans and Kelly Price, mainly on the choruses and bridge. It hit #1 on the Billboard Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart. The song received several nominations including two GRAMMY nominations and the music video was nominated for Best R&B Video at the 1999 MTV Video Music Awards.
