December 10, 1996 (24 years ago), Whitney’s beautiful ballad “I Believe In You And Me” was released as a single from the soundtrack of her holiday film The Preacher’s Wife. Written by Sandy Linzer and David Wolfert, the song had originally been recorded by The Four Tops in the early 1980s. Whitney’s version, produced by Mervyn Warren and herself (with David Foster on the single) went on to critical acclaim, becoming a Top 5 hit in the U.S. Whitney performed the song on Saturday Night Live on December 14 of that year as part of promotion for the film and soundtrack.
