Next up on Whitney’s video countdown is “Exhale (Shoop Shoop).” If any Whitney Houston video could possibly be called ‘simple,’ then “Exhale (Shoop Shoop)” is it, as the clip consists mostly of close-ups – albeit stunningly beautiful ones – of Whitney as she relates the song’s shrewd post-breakup advice, intercut with scenes from her blockbuster 1995 film, Waiting to Exhale. Also featured on the movie’s soundtrack, naturally, the song written and produced by Kenneth “Babyface” Edmonds became only the 3rd single in U.S. history to enter the Billboard Hot 100 Chart at #1, spent 20 weeks in the Top 40, was duly certified platinum, and later won the Grammy Award for ‘Best R&B Song.’
