May 7, 1988 – “Where Do Broken Hearts Go” peaked at #2 on the Billboard Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart. The song was the fourth single from her second album, Whitney, and it became her seventh consecutive #1 on the Billboard Hot 100, setting a record that stands to this day. Originally Whitney did not want to record the song but she agreed after some lyric changes. The music video was filmed in the NY area and the train scene was filmed at Newark Penn Station, in Whitney’s home town. The song was written by Frank Wildhorn and Chuck Jackson and produced by Narada Michael Walden.
