Whitney Houston’s ‘I’m Every Woman’ Peaked On R&B Chart 30 Years Ago Today

February 27, 1993 (30 years ago today) – Whitney’s version of “I’m Every Woman” peaked at #5 on the Billboard Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart. The song was written by Ashford & Simpson and was originally recorded by Chaka Khan in 1978. Whitney’s version was produced by Narada Michael Walden with additional remix production by Clivilles & Cole and adds the introduction, “Whatever you want, whatever you need…” Chaka was one of Whitney’s favorite singers and she made sure to include her in the music video.
