Whitney Houston’s ‘I Didn’t Know My Own Strength’ Peaked On Dance Chart In 2009

Whitney Houston - I Didn't Know My Own Strength front cover

On October 10, 2009, Whitney’s “I Didn’t Know My Own Strength” remix peaked at #17 on the Billboard Dance Club Songs chart. The song (written by Diane Warren and produced by David Foster) was originally supposed to be the first single from the I Look To You album but Clive Davis and company went with “I Look To You” and “Million Dollar Bill” instead. The song became enormously popular in part due to Whitney’s heartfelt performance on The Oprah Winfrey Show in September of that year (shown here).
