March 18, 1986 (36 years ago) – One of Whitney’s signature songs, “Greatest Love Of All” was released as a single from her first album. The song, written by Michael Masser and Linda Creed and first recorded by George Benson in the 1970s, became a worldwide hit for Whitney and to this day remains one of her biggest hits along with “I Will Always Love You” and “I Wanna Dance With Somebody (Who Loves Me).”
