Whitney Houston ‘My Name Is Not Susan’ Released In July 1991

Whitney Houston - My Name Is Not Susan U.S. promo CD front cover

July 21, 1991 – “My Name Is Not Susan” was released as the fourth single from Whitney’s I’m Your Baby Tonight album. Produced by L.A. Reid and Babyface (and written by Eric Foster White), this was a departure for Whitney with its new jack swing style and she became one of the first pop/R&B artists to include a rapper in a remix (Monie Love). The song peaked at #20 on the Billboard Hot 100 and #8 on the Hop R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart. Here is her performance from the HBO special Welcome Home Heroes.
