Whitney recorded the song (written by Albert Hammond & John Bettis and produced by Narada Michael Walden) for the 1988 Summer Olympics held in Seoul, South Korea. In 1989, Whitney performed the song to a standing ovation at the opening of the 31st GRAMMY Awards where she was nominated for Best Pop Vocal Performance, Female.
