Written and recorded by Annie Lennox in 1992, Whitney’s version was reworked with some new lyrics and minor changes. Annie Lennox provided background vocals for Whitney’s rendition. Billboard called it “one of the shining moments on the soundtrack to The Preacher’s Wife.” The song peaked at #15 on the Billboard Hot 100. Whitney performed the song many times on tour including her HBO special, Classic Whitney: Live From Washington, D.C..
