Whitney Houston’s ‘All The Man That I Need’ Hit #1 On Adult Contemporary Chart In 1991

On this day in 1991, “All The Man That I Need” reached #1 on the Billboard Adult Contemporary chart. Originally recorded by R&B singer Linda Clifford, Whitney’s version was produced by Narada Michael Walden and was the second single from her I’m Your Baby Tonight album. It also reached the top of the Billboard Hot 100 and Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs charts. It was nominated for Best Pop Vocal Performance, Female at the 34th GRAMMY Awards and also for Best R&B/Soul Single, Female at the 6th Soul Train Music Awards.
