Whitney Houston’s ‘I’m Your Baby Tonight’ Album Released This Day In 1990

On November 6, 1990 (29 years ago today) Whitney’s third studio album I’m Your Baby Tonight was released by Arista Records. In addition to working with previous producers Narada Michael Walden and Michael Masser, she also worked with production team L.A. Reid and Babyface as well as Luther Vandross (“Who Do You Love”) and Stevie Wonder (“We Didn’t Know”). Whitney and Rickey Minor co-produced a track called “I’m Knockin.'” The album reached #3 on the Billboard 200 and #1 on the R&B/Hip Hop chart. The Japanese edition of the album had the bonus track “Higher Love,” which was remixed by Kygo in 2019 to worldwide success, having recently been certified Gold in the U.S. and Platinum in the U.K.
