  • Even though I am 72 years old, I have never joined a "fan club", thinking it was such a hokey thing to do. However, you have been my musical inspiration since you started recording. There hasn't been a month that has gone by in all these years that I haven't thought about you and prayed that you would overcome your drug addictions.

You see, dear Whitney, in the late '70's and early 80's, cocaine was my drug of choice. I had a multi-million dollar parking management corporation and lost it and my home due to my reckless living. In 1983, I was either going to continue with my drug use and die or live to clean up my life and strive to rectify the pain and agony I heaped onto my four children. I chose to live. It was a rough recovery, but with our Lord's help and His loving support, I was blessed to really know how beautiful life is, going through each and every day completely straight.

I went on to rebuild my parking management business and became more successful than I would have ever dreamed. I also was able to eventually be a responsible mother to my children. I'm now retired and living the most incredible life and loving every minute of it.

I'm looking so forward to your new album and pray that you remain drug free. Oh, and by the way, I also am a vocalist and have done a lot of solo work for my community special events and my church. I sang your rendition of The Star Spangled Banner, which I believe is the greatest recording ever made of that terribly difficult song.
