WHITNEY HOUSTON CONCERTS IN MANCHESTER & GLASGOW
With great disappointment, Whitney Houston has postponed her first three concerts in the UK due to illness.
The shows affected are her two concerts in Manchester this Thursday and Friday (8 and 9 April) at the Manchester Evening News Arena and her show in Glasgow on Sunday (11 April) at the S.E.C.C.
All three dates have been rescheduled. Glasgow now takes place on Saturday 1 May whilst the Manchester dates will take place at the end of the tour on Wednesday 16 and Thursday 17 June.
Doctors visited Whitney late last night in Paris and confirmed that she was suffering from an upper respiratory infection. Upon medical advice Whitney has been advised that she cannot perform to allow her time to recover.
Only last month Whitney had said how excited she was to be performing again in the UK after her eleven year absence and was looking forward to performing new songs as well as crowd favourites.
Concert promoters Marshall Arts have asked ticket holders for Manchester and Glasgow to retain their tickets which will remain valid.
Those unable to make the rescheduled shows should apply to their point of ticket purchase for their refund.

Whitney, Whitney, MS WHITNEY HOUSTON!!!!
My original message was to wish you well......but I am changing it now because I know that your doing quite well!!!...........
Saw you Monday at the O2, you WERE wonderful, you gave it your all and I was so amazed how great your voice sounded and the stamina you had to keep dancing across that stage!!. The gospal song was also a very lovely twist and Didnt know my Own Strength was perfect.
I shed tears for you at the end.......you have been on such an amazing journey...and in front of us all...but you have come out on top.......just keep right on going!!!
I danced my socks off to one of my old favourites "I wanna dance with somebody" . As a teenager I used to practice dancing to that song....When you sang it on the US TV Show Dancing With The Stars, of which my old dance teacher is one of the judges, it was a dream come true, to then see you after all this time just reminded me how much your music has been there right next to me in my life. Just wished I could have danced with ya!!
I have a front row seat for Wednesday's show, I met you backstage in 1999, cant afford it this time but I am thankful I managed to get a great seat....
I wish you soooooooooooooooo much luck for Wednesday and thank you with all my heart for taking to that stage again...
Love ya....bigg bigg hugg..take care
God bless.

Whitney I will be seeing you Tonight at The LG Birmingham! I Can not wait. You Are My Idol!!!
Whitney rocked in Brum!
Whitney did an outstanding rendition of 'I Look To You' at her Birmingham concert and also had the crowd dancing the night away to many of her greatest.
I am so please that the Nottingham Arena is not cancelled, tonight is my bithday present from my husband and I have been counting the weeks since before Xmas. I think to say that I am so excited I have butterflies is an understatement and I will try not to cry all the way through the concert (pretty silly for a grown woman). So please you are feeling better Whitney and I know you will do us proud xx
Hi
I went to the LG Arena in Birmingham 13th April, I just wanted to say what an amazing show it was, I was so moved especially when Whitney sang I look to you, it was beautiful.
I paid £200 for my ticket...I would have paid more!
I wish Whitney every happiness and strength for the rest of her UK tour and hope everyone enjoys it as much as I did.

Dear Whitney,
I hope you are feeling much better soon. I saw you at Nottingham, I thought you were amazing. I love the new album, as an artist you have grown so much since the day of "I wanna dance with somebody". I was breath taken by your concert in Nottingham. I got tickets for partner at Christmas & traveled from Bristol, it was more than worth making the journey. Love you to re-record " I will always Love you" . Have so many favourite moments of the concert. I think you are amazing. Take care, much love Mark xxx
after the re-schedule of glasgow concert.sadly i wont be here and will miss the concert after waiting all this time to see you again.sooooooo sad.
Just been to see Whitney at the O2. Now I love the Whitney that we all knew but this concert was appalling - when she did sing - she couldnt. I expected to be dancing in the isles to all the old and new Whitney hits - but it was appalling. She did a long dedication to Michael Jackson - I wasnt there to hear her talk about him as much as I loved him - I cannot find the words to say how appalling this was and how upset I am..My husband bought 4 tickets for us for Christmas and we have been looking forward to the concert since. I cried all the way home as I was soooooo disappointed and upset that my husband had spent £600 YES £600 on 4 tickets plus car parking etc. etc. I will definately be demanding my money back - we have been conned - tickets have been sold under the pretence that she would be singing. She was not ill tonight - she has just lost it and didnt seem bothered as she is raking the money in. We have tickets for the Black Eyed Peas next week, better seats, and half the money - DONT GO its not worth it!!!! I am truly heartbroken - I loved her soooo much - AND if she says she is still ill then she should not have been allowed to rip us off tonight!! We had been seated since 7.30 and she didnt come on til 8.45 then took a 20min break to get changed. Hundreds of people started walking out when she came back on - she got worse!!!!
I'm offering three Whitney Houston tickets for £200 tonight. Monday 26th April at O2 Arena. Level 1, BK 112, Row P. Let me know if you're interested or you know someone who are interested. I can meet you at 02 Arena and give you the tickets tonight.
Hey Whitney, went to see you at o2 London last night...FANTASTIC!!! I last saw you live around 1992-93 and you were no different...a true show master...such a loively vibe to sing n dance to your songs...Your wonderful girl!!! keep it up xxxxx
Whitney
I saw you last night at the O2 arena and I wanted to join your fan site to give you a message of support.
I have loved you form a very young age. The first time I watched The Bodyguard I watched it 3 times in a row and to this day it is still one of my favourite films.
After hearing the reviews before I came to your show last night I was a bit apprehensive but you were a lot better than they made out. I had a really good time and although you struggled with some of bigger songs you still rocked!! "I wanna dance with sombody" and "It's not right but it's ok" Got us up dancing and your MJ tribute was lovely.
People need to understand that you have been out of singing for a while and age and general life takes a toll on your voice. You have given us some of the best songs in music history and you should be proud of what you have achieved. You seem like a lovely person and I am so glad I got to see you.
Love you Whitney, keep smiling.

I just want to thank-you Whitney for such amazing shows at the 02 arena in London. I had originally only booked to come Sunday eve but I loved it so much I bought another ticket for Wednesday. I have been a fan of yours for a while and seeing you in concert was a dream come true!!!
I just want to say please don't listen to all the critics and what they are saying. You are and continue to be a fantastic singer and you really are a true inspiration to so many people. Your voice is still amazing and girl did you rock that stage!!! You seemed such a lovely person as well though and I am so pleased that you have come through everything and are now back at the top!
I really enjoyed the bit of your concert in which you gave thanks and praise to God, I myself am a christian and I was really touched as you did that section of your show. You are a great witness to so many and I pray that God works through you and your words!!
Thank-you again for 2 fantastic evenings! I really will NEVER forget them and next time you come to London I will definately be in the crowd.
Take care,
Laura
Whitney...you were sensational in Glasgow last night!!! We loved it, loved it lovedit!! You are one of God's most talented creatures. Saty safe and it was a priviledge to watch such talent live. I will never forget it!!
Whitney, I was at Glasgow last night too. I loved it, it was my first time seeing you and with all the bad press you had been receiving I didn't expect much, but you proved me wrong. So what if you can't hit some of the high notes or you want to talk about Jacko it's your choice if people want to criticise you they shouldn't be at the concert in the first place because they are not true fans, if they want note perfect buy your albums instead.
Again, loved it, especially step by step and if I could I would be at one of your shows again.
I wish you all the luck in the world for the rest of your tour.

i was at the M.E.N last night (17/6/10) and thought you was amazin!! you put on a brilliant show. I have to admit that the reviews from the previous shows had worried me, but i now realise that they are just negative, insensitive people, who dont know real talent when they see it!!! You gave it everything you had and i left the concert on a complete high. You are amazing whitney, and hopefully, if we are lucky enough to have you back over in the uk next year, i will definitely be booking my seat!! keep it going whitney, love from a loyal fan xxxxx (p.s; you rocked it
) xxxxxxx
Just wanted to congratulate Whitney and her team for last night's performance at the Manchester Arena.
Whitney, I felt your warmth, fear, and consideration of whether you would do good, well, you did really well. How many artistes does anyone know who would have had your journey over the years and who would be able to still give it their all, not many. Believe me I know, I was around the music scene in New York and married to a famous producer whose music everyone loved, whom every group wanted to work with, yet when the going got tough, he was on his own and he spiralled into the world of drugs and loneliness and I had to walk from the mad crazy world with my sanity and for the sake of our children, to keep his legacy on. I know how very hard it is to walk away from those you truly love and yet pull yourself back up and start again, not knowing if you are doing the right thing.
For me, I had to check from afar that he was ok, but I felt and continue to feel good that what I did do was to protect the things that meant more than the money, adulation and success in the music industry and that he had produced, his children.
You were sensational and those negative comments in the media and the madness of people who expected you to perform as you did 20 years ago, well all I can say to them is BE REAL. Everyone has knocks down, but it is those who lose everything and get it back on their own terms that succeed and Whitney you not only succeeded last night but it was evident that those who truly love you were by your side and will be there for you when the going gets tough.
I also think that Marshall Arts showed their unique position as world class promoters, plus, the reason why they can deliver, in that they continued to believe in your ability to deliver and did not let you down. Other promoters would have collected the insurance and not continued (lets be truthful) on your tour and the negative press.
Only those who truly respect you as a woman, a Mother, an Artiste will continue to support your skills as a singer and will be there for you. Your journey will get better and the knocks of life will be memories.
You took your time, you gave us your all, you came through and I applaud you as I did all night, last night. You had the crowd up and dancing the night away and the stranger next to me at one point said he would have paid double to watch you. I truly believe that you showed your talent in both singing and dancing and I know it must have been really special to you to come to a City where you was not judged by the mis-representation in the media. I can only say, keep up the hard work and look after your health and come back next year, only this time include Liverpool in your tour?
Be proud of yourself, Strong Black Woman, Mother and Daughter and take care xx
Whitney !! You are amazing...I've just got home to South Wales from Manchester after watching your two concerts there adding to the Birmingham, Nottingham, Newcastle and of course the dates in London ( all of them ) and just had to tell you that you were totally amazing.
I felt such a high watching and listening you and now your tour has ended I don't know what I'm gonna do..travelling hom i'm singing all the songs from the concert ...other people must think i'm mad...I really, really hope we don't have to wait as long for the next Whitney tour as we did for this one.
They say abscence makes the heart grow fonder and if this is the case then i love you with all my heart.
My best wishes to you and your family and hope to see you real soon
xxxx
Also the tributes before and during your concerts to Michael Joseph Jackson was amazing were exceptional and I know that Michael would be looking down on us all giggling that he managed to crash your shows
Michael is the king of pop and you are still most definitely the queen of the night.
Lots of love xxx
