Dionne Warwick will soon be inducted into the Rock N' Roll Hall of Fame for her 50 years in the music biz. She will have an anniversary cd come out. I love this lady! I grew up listening to her and if it weren't for my family's loyalty to her, my mother never would have bought her cousin's new vinyl album (cds were not made yet). I would never have discovered my roll model. Before that, I had none growing up. Thank you so much, Ms. Warwick, for introducing me to your little cousin, Whitney, who, overnight, changed the music world forever.
No one could ever get tired of Whitney. This morning, I stopped to get gas and went inside the attached store to pay for it and get a cup of coffee. What a happy morning all the customers were having in the store as we were all singing to Whitney's song, "All The Man That I Need" playing overhead. Like Whitney, I too am grouchy in the morning, but not today. Everyone singing along. How uplifting!
LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Whitney Houston will be remembered in a star-studded Grammy televised concert as well the release of a greatest hits album and a television reality series following the singer's family as they cope with her sudden death.
Celine Dion, Usher and Jennifer Hudson were the first performers to be announced by The Recording Academy on Thursday for We Will Always Love You: A Grammy Salute To Whitney Houston on CBS on Nov. 16.
The one-hour event will be taped in Los Angeles on Oct. 11 and will also feature interviews and footage with the late singer, as well as artists sharing their memories of her.
The televised special will coincide with the Nov. 13 release of a compilation album, I Will Always Love You - The Best of Whitney Houston, featuring 16 of Houston's best-known hits and two previously unreleased songs, including a new duet of "I Look To You" with R. Kelly, her RCA record label said.
Lifetime television network will also be airing a new series starting on Oct. 17, The Houstons: On Our Own. It documents Houston's 19-year-old daughter Bobbi Kristina Brown, sister-in-law and former manager Pat Houston and mother Cissy, as they deal with life after the singer's death.
There are the general masses who became acquainted with the orchestrated persona referred to as Whitney Houston through the radio and the media. And then, there are those who took the time to know and understand Cissy Houston's kind-hearted, warm-loving, all-forgiving daughter, who happened to be an incomparable singer--her fans. Those who courageously continue to defend her honor with well due respect and loyalty. R.I.P., Nippy.
DiWhitney, what is The Whitney Vault?
Okay Girls, let's make it happen! Anything and everything is possible. The concerts will be layed out on dvd because we say so! Approximately 900 people have visited this site. I think we need to start with her family.
DiWhitney, WHERE is this petition you're talking about?! What is the website??? ~~I think we also need to flood Clive Davis' office with paper letters. Remember, he does not visit this site and he's probably too busy to visit any website except maybe twitter. At least his peeps will read the letters. Alot of those concerts were also recorded by other people, like the stations who telecast them. This is a very large project, but I'm committed to stick with it until it happens. I'm going to begin sending paper mail to the Houstons as well. Let's do it!!!
DiWhitney, I just found your post with the petition address: http://www.petitionbuzz.com/petitions/releasenippyvaults. It is now at 800 signatures, 80% to reach the goal of 1000. WHY are we setting a goal of only 1000??! If The Bodyguard cd sold 20 million copies, there must be at least 20 million fans! I sent a letter to the author about increasing the goal. But 800 signatures in 2 days is impressive!
I am starting with sending an email to Dionne Warwick @: email@example.com and DWIFC@aol.com. Does anyone know what record label her mama is affiliated with? We can also wait until the reality show airs on Lifetime and send letters to the family on that network as well. Let us keep in mind that this website is Sony's (i.e.: Clive Davis) so we should tread lightly when expressing our concerns. I've never thought he was a bad guy. I think he genuinely had her best interest. At times, she couldn't have been an easy client to deal with. She was nick-named Nippy for a reason.
Beautiful, dedicated, loyal Whitney fans, if you have not yet done so, please go sign the petition: http://www.petitionbuzz.com/petitions/releasenippyvaults. We are now at 1094 signatures. I will continue to buy merchandise from The Whitney Store, t-shirts, tote bags, keychains, books, hats, whatever. And not from Amazon or any discounted place. But no more compilations of the same duplicated songs. H-e-e-l-l-l no! Hell-to-the-No!
